"Through the Mud" (91x61cm)
Through the Mud explores the quiet strength found within life's struggles. It’s a reflection on what it means to keep going — not in dramatic leaps, but in steady, quiet persistence.
I worked with muted tones of beige, cream, and soft grey to build a sense of calm, layering texture to reflect the weight and grit of struggle. The darker, denser area through the middle became a symbol for that space we all move through — where clarity meets resistance, and progress happens beneath the surface.
The subtle texture creates a sense of depth, while the delicate balance between light and shadow draws the eye into the heart of the painting. The piece captures the concept of movement and progress despite being surrounded by obstacles.
With its minimalist palette and dynamic textures, Through the Mud is a reflective painting that adds a contemplative, grounding presence to any space, perfect for modern settings.
